When turkey hunting becomes tough, it is very easy to become frustrated. Some hunters may even consider giving in and not hunt. However, by getting back to the roots, or the basics, of turkey hunting, the hunter may have newly found success.

This begins with a fresh look at the turkey activity in the area to be hunted. In other words, it is time to start scouting for turkeys again. The hunter needs to find out as much information as possible about the turkeys as well as the property. This will require some steady footwork on the part of the hunter.

By scouting and gathering new information, the hunter is likely to find out why the hunting has become tough. It may be because of pressure or that something has changed as to the way the turkeys are going about their activities.

The hunter should cover as much ground as possible. Search every field, logging road, watering hole, patch of woods, and everywhere in between. It may be that the turkeys simply relocated to a different section of the property.
